Making stuff

The past few weeks have been a little rough around here.  We have been passing around a sneezy, cough-y can't sleep grossness that has quarantined us from playing with other kiddos.  Thankfully, the weather has been amazing!  In seasons like this (and on normal days I might add) I get the overwhelming desire to make something.  I just want to sit down, work with my hands and create something.  So today, I finally got some alone time, and I made these :)

Picnik will only be working for a few more months so go make your art while you can!   There is a tutorial here  :)  Happy Crafting!

Adventures in Wedding Planning

I have one wedding under my belt.  I planned mine in 3 months.  Yep, 3.  We knew we wanted to get married and so the preparations were going to be squeezed in as little time as possible.  We couldn't wait to be together after dating for 4 years.  So, planning one in 9 months sounded like nothing to me.

Most of the little details have fallen into place.  My sister in law is the opposite of a bridezilla and has mostly told me "I love your style, I trust you".  I can't tell you how fun planning and finding so many fun things and not paying for them myself has been :)  Its been so fun, except for the bridesmaids dresses.  You see, when we started looking in September-October all the summer stuff was gone, and when you're looking for a khaki dress, you need summer options.  We looked and looked and looked.  Everything looked so "bridesmaid-sy" which is not what Lauren wanted.  She wanted matte khaki.  Simple, classy, casual.  And we found everything but that.  We finally settled on a dress that would do, and when I bought it they told us it would take 20 weeks to ship.  UGH.  Fail again.  So we cancelled the order and went back to the drawing board.   I finally got desperate and googled "Khaki dress" in images and this baby showed up!

I frantically called and emailed Lauren and it was an instant yes!  Finally!  The great thing about this awesome company is that the prices are amazing, and when you sign up you get a $20 credit!  That means this beautiful i-cant-wait-to-wear-it dress was less than $60 including shipping!  Hooray!

As for now, I tried my dress on and immediately put it back in the bag and box, so as to not be tempted to wear it before June 2 ;)
